Sexual harassment in the workplace. HUB-Intranet helps UK employers manage risk and build positive culture

HUB-Intranet from Pancentric is partnering with HR experts Cape Consulting on a new campaign to help UK employers respond to strengthened sexual harassment legislation.

The initiative highlights how smart workplace technology and well-informed internal communications can help organisations manage risk, strengthen regulatory governance and foster a more positive workplace culture.

DID YOU KNOW? From 30 October 2026, employers in England, Scotland and Wales must take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees. New provisions also introduce an obligation on employers not to permit harassment by third parties, such as clients and suppliers. These changes reinforce the importance of taking a proactive, organisation-wide approach to prevention.

Combining HR expertise with smart workplace technology

Announcing the initiative with Cape, Simon Fenn, Director at Pancentric, commented:

“Our collaboration with Cape showcases how well-informed HR and smart workplace technology can combine to help organisations manage their responsibilities more effectively, keep employees informed and maintain better oversight of organisational risk, while also providing a platform and mechanisms for ongoing, positive culture building.”

Central to the campaign is a free Sexual Harassment Risk Assessment Tool from Cape Consulting to help employers rapidly score their current approach and identify areas that may require further attention.

Compliance starts here

Commenting on the campaign, Franziska Schimm, Director of Cape says

"Preventing sexual harrassment starts with culture. And culture is driven by leadership and top down example. Beyond this, success is about installing a grounded HR approach and strong management systems - and, for fast-growing businesses especially, a model that won't break as you scale."
Franziska Schimm, Director, Cape

Strong management systems are where Pancentric's HUB-Intranet platform can help.

HUB-Intranet helps organisations make light work of the policy administration - make it easy to communicate important policy updates, track employee acknowledgements, manage complaints should these occur and maintain risk registers, with date-stamped records and audit trails. This helps employers move beyond publishing policies to tracking actions and maintaining oversight of compliance.

While this campaign focuses on sexual harassment, the same capabilities support wider regulatory requirements, internal governance and risk management.

AI tools - helping colleagues find answers

Interactive tech increasingly has a role to play.

Secure internal AI chatbots, for example, can help colleagues find relevant policies, ask questions and better understand organisational guidance without having to search through lengthy documents.

Used appropriately, these tools can make important information easier to navigate and support a more informed workforce. They can complement formal policies, training and HR advice by helping employees access relevant information when they need it.

Beyond compliance: building a positive culture

Effective communication is not just about meeting regulatory requirements.

It also helps create a workplace where colleagues can become invested in the organisation's vision, values and journey, feel better connected to their colleagues, know where to find support when they need it and understand wider organisational expectations - especially key for hybrid and remote working models.

By making information and processes more accessible and providing ongoing mechanisms for colleague engagement, HUB-Intranet helps organisations not only meet their governance goals but also build a positive, informed and connected workplace community.
